Who We Are
Technology/Engineering Management Int’l, LLC (TEMI) was founded over twenty years ago to provide our technology intensive clients with consulting, contract research, and training in engineering and technology management, science & technology intelligence analysis, and operations research. Our services address diverse needs in strategic planning, technology assessment, market research, competitor intelligence, due diligence, production/operations management, operations research, technology transfer, and engineering management. We also deliver training in technology forecasting, competitive intelligence analysis, statistical process control, and transitioning from technical professional to manager. Although TEMI is a small consultancy, with the support of our network of business partners and professionals in many fields, we can readily undertake major research and consulting assignments. |
What We Do
TEMI provides a variety of consulting, research, and training services to its clients, the exact nature of which is dictated by the uniqueness of each client. A typical project might consist of an assessment of a specific emerging technology to include the present state of the art, future prospects and anticipated technical capability, identification of firms having a position in the technology and their level of capability, market potential, and economic evaluation. Other projects might center on the training of in-house staff in skills such as technology forecasting and assessment, competitive intelligence analysis, or engineering management. |
Clients
TEMI’s clients have included Fortune 100 firms and small businesses as well as the U.S. Government. We have worked with a wide variety of technologies and for clients in industries as diverse as mineral resources, renewable energy, energy storage, computers, telecommunications, electronics and signal processing, agriculture, hazardous waste management, and meteorology (including aviation weather). |
How We Work
Objectivity and professionalism are the hallmark of TEMI’s work efforts. Although we are a small firm, TEMI maintains an extensive network of professionals to draw upon for virtually any consulting need. Over the years, we have amassed a wealth of experience and contacts that is especially valuable in the field of technology and engineering management. Consulting or contract research projects can be arranged on either a fixed-fee (if the project scope and outcomes can be adequately defined) or an hourly basis. A third option that we also offer clients is the opportunity to contract with us on a retainer basis. |
Why Retain TEMI?
TEMI is an eclectic consultancy with skills in a wide variety of areas as described elsewhere on this website. We focus on problem solving utilizing advanced quantitative and technical skills complemented by strong skills in technology management and strategic planning. This unique mix of talent allows us to easily transcend the natural barriers which exist between the technical and management domains in most organizations. We are experienced in a wide variety of technologies and industries and strive to make a real difference for our clients. Flexibility, dedication, and customer responsiveness further differentiate us from the competition. Small projects are welcomed with the same level of enthusiasm as the large research or consulting project. No project is too large or too small, and whether your requirements are for a few days – or even hours – of consultation, a discrete project, or an in-depth, continuing relationship, TEMI will be happy to explore working with your organization. Whether the need is for consulting, research, or employee training and coaching, TEMI can bring fresh ideas and perspective to complement your internal capabilities. Let us put our expertise to work for you. |
TEMI’s Code of Professional Responsibility
TEMI’s consulting philosophy is that we work in partnership with our clients to deliver a quality product that provides value to the client. Our code of ethics and professional responsibility dictates that TEMI will not accept any assignment for which it is not qualified or that would not be fruitful for our clients. If what you have in mind is not going to work, or if there is a high probability that it is unlikely to work, the project will not be accepted. TEMI will use all reasonable precautions to guard the confidentiality of all client information gathered during the course of the assignment. It is our policy to not accept assignments with two or more competing clients on sensitive problems without first obtaining the approval of each client and to inform our clients of any circumstances that could present a conflict of interest or otherwise influence our objectivity. We are proud to abide by strict standards of ethical conduct in the performance of our work. In competitive intelligence research, this includes accurately disclosing all relevant information about our identity and that of our client prior to all interviews. We will fully respect all requests for confidentiality of information and will not seek to acquire trade secrets or other confidential information using illegal, unethical, or otherwise questionable methods. |
